Moonsighting for Jumada-al-Thani 1425

The Jumada-al-Thani crescent's was not seen from Merkiche on July 17. We tried with naked eye as well as with binocular.

I have sighted the crescent on Sunday, 18 July 2004 at Anuban Muslimphuket School at 19:15 UTP after in Phuket. The sunset was at 18:49 UTP. I have seen it with my naked eyes.

This month my report is from Tehran, Iran. I saw the crescent from 20:50 till 21:00 local time with binoculars. It was not possible for me to see it with naked eye. But I think the reason for this is the heavy air pollution. I saw it near the surrounding mountains it was very dimmed red.

On Sunday 17 July, I tried to sight the crescent, but could not see it. On 18 July the age of the the moon was about 34 to 35 hours and it was still difficult to sight the crescent because it was cloudy on 18 July 2004.

I successfully observed the new moon from Chino Valley, Arizona, at 19:43 MST using binoculars and it then became apparent to the naked eye at 19:55 MST. So, let the new lunation begin.

Sighted the crescent with naked eye this evening of Sunday, July 18th, 2004 local time 8:15pm here in Long Beach, area of greater Los Angeles, California. USA. The top horn of the crescent was between 12&1 and the bottom horn was between 7&8 closer to 7. The sighting was very clear.
