In Kuwait on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 I could not sight the crescent even with 20x60 binocular. The western horizon was clear exept the last 2 to 3 degrees .

I have tried on Wednesday 19 May 2004 to see the crescent moon but it was not seen. On Wednesday 19 May 2004, the moon age was about 16 hours and not visible.

This evening (Wednesday, May 19th), the western horizon was cloudy in Blaksburg area (VA) and thus we could not sight the moon.

I sighted the moon with a 7*50 binoculars 25 miles south to fort Collins, Colorado in a fairly hazy sky at 8:45 local time; Horns between 3 and 6:30. The binoculars compass pointed towards a magnetic bearing of 289 degrees. I could not sight it with the naked eye.

At the Astronomical Observatory, Institute of Space & Planetary Astrophysics, University of Karachi, we started tracking the new crescent Moon at 18:30 Pakistan Standard Time when the Right Ascension of Moon was 4 Hrs 48 Min, Declination was 25 deg 12 Min and the Local Hour Angle was 5 Hrs and 4 Min. around 41 minutes before the sunset. The weather conditions were un-helpful. Winds up to 15-20Km/hours were blowing from West (our direction of view), it was partly cloudy and extremely dusty. Humidity was around 60%.

It was only at 19:37 that we could see very thin crescent faintly visible through the 6” Code’ Refractor telescope about 26 minutes after sunset when the local Hour Angle of the Moon was 6 Hrs 11 Min.

Venus seen with naked eyes upon arrival to site at 18:26; sun diappeared from sight at 18:29.
Crescent seen with binocular at 18:36 & our local sunset at 18:37. Crescent first seen with naked eyes at 18:51.
Last seen with naked eyes at 19:25.
Last seen with bino at 19:30.
Moon set at 19:56.

The crescent moon was visible in England (UK) on Thursday 20 May 2004 about 21:25UTC. The crescent moon was visible for 1 hour 5 minutes. I and 4 Muslims (include my local Imam) have sighted the crescent moon for Rabi al Thani with naked eye. The Imam made a difficult decision at Isha Salah time and he said it was a second night moon to be united with other communities in England. The moon age was about 40 hours on Thursday 20 May 2004 in England.
