Moonsighting for Sha'ban 1425

September 14, 2004 (Tuesday):

No moonsighting was reported from anywhere in the world. It was impossible to see anywhere on earth!

Septmber 15, 2004 (Wednesday):

In Kuwat on Wednesday 15 Sep 2004 I could not sight the crescent even with 20*60 binocular. The western horizon was dusty & hazy the last 10 degrees. The sun disc disappeared 8 minutes before its actual sunset.

As you already informed on your website that the moon would not be able to be seen in Europe, hereby a reaction from a few active moonsighters in Amsterdam (The Netherlands), that the new moon was not seen in Amsterdam indeed (with the naked eye). No other reactions were reported from any other city in the Netherlands.

I could NOT SEE the crescent moon today (Sept. 15) despite using a 8 x 50 binoculars.

The new moon was sighted in Houston, Texas, at 7:40 p.m. on Sept. 15, 2004, by three adults and three children. Very small, low on the horizon, barely visible in the evening haze.

Al-Hamdulillah, on Wednesday, September 15, 2004, Sha'ban-ul-Muazzam Moon was seen by Hafiz Mohammad Iqbal, President/Imam of Madrasah Islamiah, Houston, TX and by many many other people.

The new moon was successfully observed from Chino Valley Arizona on the evening of Sep. 15. Initial observation was with binoculars at 1846 MST and it became visible to the unaided eye at 1852 MST. Final observation was visual as it slipped below the local horizon at 1920 MST.

Unable to sight the crescent this evening of Wed. Sept. 15th, 2004 here in the cities of Buena Park, Signal Hill and Long beach, (California) due to very heavy cloud in sighting area and over cast.

I viewed the moon for Shaaban on Sept 15, after Maghrib and it set about 30 minutes after maghrib. It was veiwed by myself and a friend Shakeel Rahman and my wife Fatima Sharaaz and son Yaseen Khan (10 years old). It was a thin cresent and was about 20 degrees above the horizon when I saw it.
