August 5, 2005 (Friday):

Friday, August 5th: I could not sight the Hilal. I stayed outdoor until 6.53pm [no DLT]. It was dust-hazy though.

Dr. Youssef Ismail (MCW member) from Palo Alto, CA reported: Seen w/Binoculars
On August 5, I saw the moon from a location just west of Stanford University in Palo Alto, CA. It was an incredibly thin crescent that I could not see with the naked eye, but only with the aid of 10x50 power binoculars.

The Hilaal of RAJAB 1426 has been sighted on Saturday 6 of August 2005 in many places including Sydney and Perth, therefore moon-sighting committee of Australia and Majlis ul Ulamaa of Australia have declared that the month of RAJAB will start from Sunday 7 August 2005
