I did not make it to my planned observation point on time, so I had to settle for this alternative. There had been some rainshowers in the afternoon, with some wind. As the sun was setting, the southern part of the western horizon cleared up. Visibility was excellent, except for sporadic patches of dark cloud. I first saw the crescent (1.6% illumination, 165.65 degree phase angle) at ~15:21:8.2 TT = 17:20:00 local time. I continued to watch it for five minutes, after which it sank into the obscurity of a small dark cloud.
At this phase angle, there was little crescent to see. The horns of the crescent were past 4 O'clock, and near 7 O'clock respectively. However, at it's true zenith distance of 82.00646 degree, meaning ~7.99 degrees of altitude, atmospheric extinction was no problem. Refraction amounting to 0.1 degrees further enhanced visibility (Calculated using Saemundsson's formula). Pressure : 1014.0mB, Temp: 19'C, Humidity ~ 45% Astronomic parameters from USNO MICA 2.2.2
