Moonsighting for Rabi-at-Thani 1437
The Astronomical New Moon (conjunction) is on January 10, 2016 (Sunday) at 1:30 UT. On January 10, the moon may be seen in Amdericas with naked eye and it can also be seen with binoculars/telescopes in Saudi Arabia, Africa and Europe. On January 11, it can be easily seen all over the world (See visibility curves).
The earliest reported sighting of the new crescent was on January 11, 2016 from Brisbane, Australia.
January 10, 2016 (Sunday):

From Cairo, Sun. Jan 10th, 2016, as expected, the Crescent was NOT seen. Topocentric crescent width was on the order of 8.4" (arcseconds). Apparent sunset was at 5:13 PM.
Visibility was quite good.

The hilal was not sighted in Pretoria. Conditions were overcast. UUCSA has confirmed that the moon for Rabī' ul-Ākhir has not been sighted. As such the first of Rabī' ul-Ākhir will be on Tuesday the 12th of January 2016

Today the evening of 10-01-2016AD=29-3-1437AH was the sighting day in Srilanka for the month of Rabee-ul-Akhir 1437AH.I was about to go to my sighting place but I was asked to participate in the C.G.M. Hilal Committee meeting. Today the lag was 21 mnts. The prediction of the astronomers is not favorable for naked eye sighting. Anyhow as a Fardh-Kifayah our C.G.M.H.C. with the A.C.J.U.H.C. arranged hilal sighting authority groups right around Srilanka. As we received negative reports from the most part of the island it was decided by the president of the C.G.M.H.C. Moulana Riyadh (Baari) to complete the month of Rabee-un-ilawwal as 30 days and to begin the month of Rabee-ul-Akhir on Tuesday 12th of January.

The crescent moon to commence the month of Rabi Al-Akhar 1437 AH was looked for after the sunset of Sunday 10th January 2016. Reports from all committees locally and regional confirm that the moon was NOT SIGHTED. We have accepted these reports and has declared that the month of Rabiiul Awwal 1437 AH will complete 30 days and the 1st night of Rabi Al-Akhar 1437 AH will be the night of Monday 11th January 2016 and the first day of Rabi Al-Akhar 1437 AH will be Tuesday 12th January 2016.

This evening (Sunday, January 10, 2016), the crescent moon was not sighted in Blacksburg, VA (Lat: 37° 15' 40" N, Lng: 80° 26' 56" W, and elevation: 646 meters). I arrived at my sighting location (Blacksburg Middle School) a few minutes after sunset (sunset: 5:22 pm EDT). Facing a totally cloudy horizon, I stayed there only for a short time (moonset: 6:23 pm). At 5:35 pm, the temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and pressure were 32.5 F, 25.5 F, 75%, and 29.81 in, respectively.

The Hilal of R/Thani has been sighted In Brisbane . Therefore the month of R/Thani will start from Tuesday: 12/01/2016.

The creasent was sighted in Brisbane this evening. Therefore the first day of Rabi ul Thani 1437 will be Tuesday 12th of January 2016.

In Sydney and Melbourne the sky was cloudy so we were unable to sight the moon. But Alhumdulillah our brothers in Brisbane confirmed that moon was sighted in Brisbane. Therefore the first day of Rabi ul Thani 1437 will be Tuesday 12th of January 2016.

On Monday, Jan 11, 2016, the sunset in Toronto was at 5:02 p.m. EST. I went looking for the new moon after praying Maghrib. The skies were clear with only a few low hanging clouds in the horizon. A one-day-old new moon crescent was easily seen tonight from Flemingdon Park neighbourhood in North York.

Mon. Jan 11th, 2016, as expected, the Crescent was seen. I started the session @17:08, shortly before apparent sunset, which was at 17:14. The sun had disappeared by 17:09. I first saw the crescent @17:15:13"43, at which time it was barely visible to myself, and NOT visible to my colleagues! And of course, I can't blame them. After Maghrib prayers, it was very clearly visible. The horns @17:35 were about 4 and 8 O'clock respectively. Visibility was very good. In fact, it was better than yesterday.

Today Monday 11-January-2016 = 30-Rabiul Awwal-1437 Hijri, I tried to see the moon at my home from 05:40 pm to 06:00 pm but moon was not seen because Horizon was too foggy.

I saw the hilal of Rabi-Ul-Thani, 1437 with my naked eyes between 7:00 p.m. And 7:15 p.m. on 11/01/2016 at Masha, Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. The orientation was between 4 and 10.

I and five others sighted the new Crescent of Robiu Thanni today Monday, 11/01/16~ 1437\03\30 at exactly 7:15pm.
Sky Conditions: Thick Cloud, Dusty, with red Horizon. Visibility-2km, Sunrise-7:03am LT and Sunset-6:41pm LT.
Addendum: There are two major dates in Nigeria right from the start of new year 1437. Today which is Monday 11th of January, is counted as 30th of Robiu Awwal and 1st of Robiu Thanni, respectively.
The Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs is yet to reconcile the two dates. We keep in view.

This is to inform you that I was able to sight the new crescent of Rabii 2, 1437 after Maghrib of Monday 11 January 2016 in the region of Rabat, Morocco. The crescent was very visible at 18:00 and the crescent horns were from 4 o'clock to 8 o'clock. the sun set was at 17:40.

This evening (Monday, January 11, 2016), the moon was sighted in Blacksburg, VA (Lat: 37° 15' 40" N, Lng: 80° 26' 56" W, and elevation: 646 meters). My first naked eye sighting was at 5:28 pm EST (sunset: 5:23 pm). The western horizon was mostly clear. The horns were at 3:00 and 7:30 O'clock (3:00;5:00;7:30). I ended the session well before moonset (moonset: 7:27 pm). At 5:35 pm, the temperature, dew point, relative humidity, and pressure were 30.6 F, 14.2 F, 51%, and 30.07 in, respectively.
