     SKY CONDITIONS: I used Venus first to locate the approximate location in the sky knowing that the moon would be very close to Venus that I could see easily after sunset).
     REMARKS: I then scanned the area of sky with 20x80 binocs until I spotted the faint crescent of the moon. It was about 15 mins later that the crescent became visible to the naked eye - but only just because of patchy light cloud.

     REMARKS: I went for sighting the crescent without looking for its location on any computer software and the sunset location was hidden by 10 degrees cloud above western horizon but with the help of Venus I could find the crescent by the binocular then with naked eyes but with difficulty due to bad weather.

     FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH: Today is 29 of Safar in our country, so we will wait for a confirmation of sighting in Morocco or the rest of Spain, most probably tomorrow will be first of Rabi I.
     REMARKS: Since Melilla is in the North of Africa, our references come from either sighting reports of Morocco or Spain Peninsula, when the crescent was not sighted due to weather conditions, like today.

     SKY CONDITIONS: Cloudy
     TIME OF SIGHTING EFFORT: I tried to observe the Hilaal after mahrrib salah at about 6:15PM till 7;PM even with my binocular I couldn't trace a thing. Sunset was at 6:06PM. & moonset was at 7:09PM.
     FIRST DAY OF THE MONTH: Colombo Grand Mosque Hilaal Committee declared to start the month of Rabi al Awwal 1435H.on Friday 3rd. January 2014.
     REMARKS: However our Hilaal Committee have received some positive naked eye sighting from southwest town Bentota and northwest town Puttalam. Hence our Colombo Grand Mosque Hilaal Committee declared to start the month of Rabi al Awwal 1435H on Friday 3rd. January 2014.
