The Astronomical New Moon is on October 5, 2013 (Saturday) at 0:35 UT. There is a small chance of seeing the moon in South Africa on October 5, although unlikely. This moon could be visible in South America and Polynesian Islands on October 5. Based on visibility somewhere on earth on Oct 5 (Ittihadul-Matale' concept), Eid-al-Adha could be on Tuesday, October 15. On October 6, moon would be visible almost everywhere except Northern latitudes in Asia and Europe. (See visibility curves). Accordingly, most of the world after seeing the crescent moon may have Eid-al-Adha on Wednesday October 16, 2013.
