We could not see the moon by naked eye, binoculars or even with a Meade telescope.
The Meade LX200 telescope was being driven by a computer and it was able to slew to Saturn very accurately as we were able to see the rings very clearly in the telescope eyepiece.
Note that experienced observers believe the fact that we could not see a 16 hours old moon with a telescope on the 30th day of the lunar month as per Ummul Qura calendar (but saw Saturn before moonset) seems to suggest that the month of Dhul Hijjah 1435 AH was started too early in Saudi Arabia (and Allah knows best!).

But I could not see it with my bare eyes or regular glasses. There was another person hiking on the trail who could see it with the binoculars as well, but not see it with his bare eyes.
